Global standards for jurisdictional forest and climate programs

A group of volunteer experts has completed an assessment of two global standards for jurisdictional forest and climate programs.[1] The results of these assessments, and associated documentation, can be found by clicking on the links below:

Both standards were found to be largely consistent with the criteria established, as well as the associated standards. Based on best expert judgement, jurisdictional programs that sign an Emissions Reductions Payment Agreement with the FCPF Carbon Fund, or are validated to VCS’s Jurisdictional and Nested REDD framework, should also be consistent with the criteria. Once accepted, the programs will not need to be individually assessed against these criteria, except as specified below. Information on qualifying programs will be posted here on this site once available.
